Small businesses account for over 99.7% of all businesses in America pay 45% of the U.S. private payroll, make up 97% of all identified exporters, and employ over half the work force. Within the City of Dallas, small business represents 80% of the business community and 34% of the total work force.

The Office of Economic Development Small Business Initiatives is a resource to capitalize on investment opportunities that attract and retain small businesses in Dallas. By providing increased job opportunities, neighborhood business services and opportunities for business ownership and economic and community development, Dallas becomes the city of choice for citizens and businesses for the region.
